ACHIEVEMENTS OF SUPP SINCE 2006
I like to mention some of the positive results of the forward plan here because the public and even our members sometimes overlook them.
1. We retained 6 of the Parliamentary seats in the March 2008 Parliamentary Election.
2. We have since formed 11 new branches and 6-8 branches are ready to be formed.
3. We have over 2,270 new members at a time when the Party image has been damaged.
4. On the land issue:
(i) Land titles can be renewed at any time.
(ii) Land premium especially in Kenyalang and the poor housing estates are much reduced.
(iii) Land premium can be paid over a period of ten years.
(iv) Those who cannot afford the land premium especially among the low income group can appeal to the minister for reduction.
(v) Section 47 has been lifted in many areas including parts of Bako. We will continue to get more areas lifted.
5. Schools
We have built and helped to build or relocate some Chinese Aided schools. The latest being Chung Hua Primary School No. 2.
6. We have succeeded in sourcing more federal funds for Chinese Aided and mission schools, Tens of millions, the figure keeps increasing.
These are some of the successes due to the effort of our Party, no one can deny.
The opposition asks for the impossible.
We accomplish the possible.
The opposition gives the people nothing but promises.
We give the people what is reasonable.
They say they cannot do anything because they are not in the government. You don’t have to be in the government to build Chinese independent schools.
They say they can form a better government.
